6. Thoughts from me:
No matter how old you are, it doesn’t get any easier.
Rejection stings. It can make us feel insecure. It makes us question our value.
Picture this:
You’re waiting to hear your number get called for the team announcement.
You’re hopeful and excited, but know that the decision ultimately isn’t in your control.
They call the last number and you’re still standing there…
You didn’t make the team. There’s a deep pit in your stomach. You’re emotionless…but you want to cry…but the shock is hitting you. You’re having trouble processing what just happened.
An out-of-body experience really.
Whether you’ve experienced this exact moment or you’ve had various other occurrences in your life where you’ve been hit with rejection - none of it is any easier than the rest.
Getting put in an odd position in formation (#danceteamprobz)
…or being ghosted by a friend/person you like (#life).
How do we move forward and twist rejection into a positive experience like Sara Blakely and her dad?
Accept what you can and cannot control.
Believe that everything that is meant for you will find you.
Be at peace knowing that who you are and what you offer are enough.
Find the lesson from the rejection. One day, it will all be a part of your story that you share with others to help in their journey.
