6. Thoughts from Me:
PICTURE THIS!
You as a kid…
going to dance class,
going to dance team practice,
and performing at games and competitions.
So much fun right?! The good ole days!
It wasn’t free to be a member of these classes, studios, and teams, now was it?
You paid. (Or more like your parents / guardians did lol.)
Dance becomes such a passion for you that when it is possible to pursue a career with it — almost seems too good to be true to get paid for it.
Even when the pay is low — it still feels like ‘just a plus’ to get paid considering you spent so much of your time growing up, dancing. It seems like your natural hobby to continue.
There are many opportunities to pursue dance as a job.. wonder what they are?
Below are just a few of the opportunities one may take to continue their passion in the dance / dance team world.
In no particular order —
NBA dancer / NFL cheerleader
Dance Team Coach
Choreographer
Competition Judge
Working for UDA or NDA
Dance Entrepreneur (create your own dance team training business)
Dance Team Trainer
Dance Teacher
Studio Owner
Uniform / Costume Designer
Dance Photographer / Videographer
Signed with an agency, booking dance jobs, dancing professionally for artists
Which job on the list are you interested in? If any, pursue it.
